Putting things in Perspective: An interview with Linda Sawyer
Want to find work/life balance? Don’t we all.
So how do you get it? For starters, be a gymnast, according to Linda Sawyer, Deutsch Inc.’s CEO of North America and a recent guest on the new online talk show, Perspectives with Katie Kempner.
Perspectives profiles extraordinary working women who are successful in both their professional and personal lives, the goal being to empower and inspire other women in the workplace. Host Katie Kempner, EVP of communications at Crispin Porter + Bogusky, chatted with Linda, who shared nuggets about success, talked candidly about how she has been able to triumph in her work life while maintaining a rich family life, and how much she enjoys her job here at Deutsch.
She stresses that having the right people around you is a key factor to being successful. “Make sure you try to work for the smartest possible people where you can learn the most, and make sure you have really strong people working for you,” she adds.
And when asked if she’d ever opt for a slower life, Linda rejects the idea, assured that she would be totally bored. “I’m so motivated by what I do I think I’d get bored very quickly….I really enjoy going to work and being able to learn and laugh and really have fun.”
Each week, Kempner will interview a differentwoman from not only advertising but a range of other industries. Next week, she sits down with Suzanne Powers, EVP, Global Strategy Officer at CP+B.
